However, the cornerstone for this evaluation relies on the clinical examination. It starts by taking careful medical history moreover to having the best clinical result for each individual.

In our clinic apart from the detailed clinical examination we also make the following examinations:

Spirometry

We take the necessary information on the functioning of the upper respiratory system.

Pulse Oximetry

Is a non-invasive method for monitoring a patient's O2 saturation.

Measurement of carbon monoxide (CO)

Exhaled carbon monoxide (CO) is an effective indicator of smoking in clinics and hospitals.

Measurement of nitric oxide (NO)

Exhaled nitric oxide (eNO) can be measured in a breath test for asthma or other conditions characterized by airway inflammation.

Skin prick tests

Bronchoscopy

Bronchoscopy is performed when specific indications exist.

  • Biopsy loop (tongs, brush, sponge)
  • Bronchus lavage, BAL (crops, cytological PAP).
  • Interventions (eg Laser etc.)

Puncture

In cases of pleurisy Puncture must be performed

  • Diagnostic (crops, cytological PAP).
  • Therapeutic (vacation, injecting drugs)

The use of the above examinations is individualized specifically for each patient. Blood tests may also be needed together with the use of other diagnostic techniques (chest x-ray, chest CT, MRI, Scanning). In specific circumstances, bronchoscopy, sleep laboratory polysomnography or other diagnostic tests may be needed.

There are specific indications for each and every diagnostic test in order to achieve rapid diagnosis, treatment and best possible results.
